We are an independent Conservative and egalitarian educational and religious community/synagogue in Elgin. Shirat Shalom provides a full service Hebrew and Sunday School education which includes Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation as well as a popular Lehrhaus program for teenage Torah study & Jewish education. Additionally, our Hazzan teaches adult level classes, both on Shabbat following kiddush and on weeknights.

We are a diverse community, united in our desire to worship God as Jews, to learn from our rich heritage and from each other, to celebrate with and support our members through happy and sad times.
